My article on the war reporting of Anna Politkovskaya and Vassily Grossman has just been published in the academic journal Media, War & Conflict.  You can read the abstract here. I published a post on the same subject last year, when I was first working on the longer article. As well as looking at the two journalists’ work, the article considers the more literary nature of Russian journalism — in comparison to much of the journalism of the English-speaking world, at least — and patriotism and political pressure as influences on reporting armed conflict.
